The Women’s Financial Literacy Program fosters women’s self worth through group and individual support with skills such as budgeting, debt reduction, goal setting, building assets, coping strategies, and stress management. The financial literacy workshops and individual support through this program help women to thrive in the community.
Although this is a new program at Elizabeth Fry, Tara Eden has facilitated similar workshops for the Prostitution, Awareness, and Action Foundation of Edmonton. This is what participants have said:
“You need to be serious in the program because you learn a lot”
“It’s made a huge difference in my life, education, as well as career”
“Five years after I took the workshops I am still using the same method I learned to budget my money every month”
